I was the lucky winner of DNZoom’s drawing for a free ticket to T.R.A.F.F.I.C. Fortunately for me, the original winner was unable to go. When I received an email from Sean Stafford at DNZoom.com letting me know I was the second runner-up, I was absolutely thrilled. With only a few days before the conference, I had to quickly rearrange my busy schedule, but I knew I wasn’t going to pass up this opportunity. I was already familiar with T.R.A.F.F.I.C. and wanted to go on previous occasions, but had not had the chance before…this time I knew I would not miss it.
It was my first T.R.A.F.F.I.C. conference, so I can’t compare it to prior ones, but for me it was undeniably one of the best conferences I’ve been to. I found the various sessions, comprised of industry experts, to be very informative. The sessions covered numerous areas of the domain industry including legal matters, parking, domain development, and SEO, among others. In addition to the sessions, there were many opportunities to network with others in the industry.
It was great to meet a lot of the people behind the various blogs, parking companies, registrars, magazines and other services I’ve been using and reading. A highlight of the show for me was meeting and spending time with Sean Stafford, Dan Kimball and some of the other guys from the DNZoom/Bido team. I’ve been an avid fan of DNZoom since I first knew about it. They were all great guys and a lot of fun to be around with. They also introduced me to several of the other attendees. Among them, I had the real pleasure of meeting Sahar Sarid. I’ve been a reader of his blog at Conceptualist.com for sometime now and was happy to finally meet him in person.
Meeting Ron Jackson from DNJournal.com and being able to spend some time talking with him was also a great thrill. In fact, everyone at the conference, from Rick Schwartz on, was very friendly, down to earth and approachable. Although it’s been mentioned how attendance was lower at this T.R.A.F.F.I.C. conference compare to previous ones, I must say that for me it was probably better. I was able to meet and talk with people that perhaps I might not have had a chance to if attendance had been higher. There’s really nothing like meeting and talking face-to-face with new business contacts.
I’m confident that being a part of T.R.A.F.F.I.C. opened new doors for my business. I learned new things, met a lot of great people and made many new friends. I look forward to attending future T.R.A.F.F.I.C. conferences.

It was great getting to mee you, Juan!!
Hope to see you again soon!
Kind Regards,
Sean Stafford
Nice to read about Juan’s experiences at T.R.A.F.F.I.C. Orlando here - excellent post. I remember chatting with Juan on the bus ride from TrafficZ’s Irish Pub party back to the Grand Floridian when he happened to be sitting across the aisle from me. It was great to meet so many bright young entrepreneurs like Juan at the conference which had a lot of newcomers this time. They say they learn from the veterans but we also learn from them because they bring a lot of fresh ideas along with them. I don’t think there is a better mix of people in any industry anywhere.
Juan - it was great meeting you as well. The initial immersion of those of us at TRAFFIC has produced a lot of alliances that will prove to be very valuable in the future.
Best regards,
Theo
Juan -
We had the chance to speak a few times and being a first timer myself, it was great to see how the industry is coming together.
I’m sure we’ll be in touch and good luck!
